After all of your suggestions yesterday, I went out and took sample photos to present to my client. This morning, he hired me for the job. Thanks all!

I’d be interested in the technicals of how you shot these. What were your starting points for ISO, shutter speed and aperature? Did you blend several images? Any remote flashes used?

All shots were iso 100, f16. For the first shot, I used an ND filter and the exposure was 120 seconds. The other three shots had no filter, and varied between 20-30 second exposures. No blending or remote flashes were used. Edited in Lightroom 4 to lighten shadows and bring down the highlights.

the first two are the best, I think you should go a bit earlier to get just a little more light in the sky. overall they are great

May I ask whats the point of an ND filter at night? I use my heavily for daytime shots, but never felt the need for one at night.
